I have successfully changed the water pump and am now trying to re-attach the lower unit, but when inserting the shift-pin I cannot hit the hole in the upper part of the shift rod to connect it to the shift linkage. Is there a trick to making this blind connection? I figured that this...
I need to replace the impellar on the water pump, but am not succeeding in getting the lower unit off of the motor. I have removed all six bolts on the lower half, but cannot get the shift rod to disengage to allow the lower unit to be removed. Any help?
