Did you ever get this resolved?? I?m facing nearly identical issues with my 9.8 HP 2-stroke here in Honduras where I have little access to mechanics or parts. Any information on what worked for you would be greatly appreciated.
Since obtaining ethanol treated fuel in Florida I have had multiple fuel related issues at have now culminated in the engine only being able to run at relatively high rpms with the choke on.
My first symptom was finding that the ethanol dissolved the liner in the fuel line from the tank...
