New 90hp TLDI. Are they noisier than older models

I had a 2003 90hp tldi on my old boat. I bought in new and owned it for 9 seasons. Great motor which gave me no trouble. So I bought a new one last Sept for my new boat, and the new motor seems louder than the old one. Is it just me or did they change things to keep up with emission...

6hp sail pro or 9.8 with high thrust prop?

I have to decide which one to buy as a kicker for my 22ft cabin skiff. Are there thrust specs for both models? I know neither kicker will plane my 8 degree deadrise skiff, so if the 6hp sailpro will move the boat at hull speed, am I wasting $$$ by buying the 9.8 instead?

    50hp TLDI tiller handle diagnostics

I had a 90hp TLDI on my previous and also bought the factory manual which gave all the information to read fault codes and engine hours thru the tach. Now I'm going to put a 50hp TLDI with a tiller handle on the boat I'm now building. I'm assuming the tiller doesn't have a tach to go with it...

    New changes to 90 TLDI?

I noticed the 90 TLDI have undergone some changes from last year. The weight is now 337# instead of 315#, and the gear ratio is 2.3:1 instead of 2:1. I bought a new 90 TLDI in 2003 with a 2:1 gear ratio and have been very happy with it. My only observation is that I have a hard time getting...
