What's a good source (least expensive) for repair manuals on the above?
So far, I think the lower unit is where the most of the work is needed.

For my '69 - 20hp Johnson. Aquired in a trade with no history. The linkage attaching the knob on the front of the engine to the arm adjusting the slow speed needle valve is missing. I can get it started but but it won't stay running and has a miss.
Can some tell me what the initial setting...
Playing around with an "inherited" '68 20hp Johnson.
Drained lube from lower unit. It didn't have but a coupla oz. in it and it was "tan-milky" (?). I guess I wasn't so surprised at the consistancy of the fluid as I was that it had so very little it had in it. If the water was leaking into...
