Electrical troubleshooting...not my best strength....with the batteries on and ignition switch on I'm getting about 11 volts to the coil.....about 8 volts from the coil centre post going to the distributor....when I put the timing gun on the spark plug wires I get no reaction from the light when...
I have to replace my transom bellows...I have the replacement and have been given some advice by my service guy about replacing it myslef without dropping the sterndrive from the intermediate housing....he said do it on a nice hot day (to soften the rubber) and make sure the seal is well greased...
2 summers ago I replaced the points system with a delco electronic distributor kit. The original distributor had number 1 cylinder node one point port of forward....the electronic delco has number 1 cylinder connected to the second node port of forward...the firing order on the two is the same...

I have recently purchased a Delco Voyager distributor kit to replace the points system in my 1985 5.7 OMC Stringer. I followed the wiring instructions to bypass the shift interupt switch and therefore the ESA module. The thing works fine but I have lost my top end which used to be about 4100 rpm...
