    short driveshaft 225 looper

    just bought a lower unit from a 1998 to replace the one out of my 1989 225. was told that it would work, but when i pulled my old one off the driveshaft is about 1/2 inch longer then the newer one. will it work or do i need to send this one back?? i don't want to tear anything up. thanks, jack...

    what is the difference between left hand rotation and right hand??? will power head from left hand work on right hand lower unit?? is the difference in just the gears, are the power heads the same?? or is the lower unit what determines left or right rotation. i need to know if i can put counter...
