    I need a shift rod bushing, '66 40hp Johnson. Is it a common bushing(local marina, auto parts, or hardware store) or a specialty part? Where is the best place to acquire this bushing? I have the seal kit but need the bushing(it is scored on the inside from removal) ehtyler

    66 40hp seahorse low forward propulsion/prop rpms

    1966 40 hp seahorse low propulsion in forward...one second of good thrust off dock then went to low propulsion, barely enough to get back to dock at mid-low throttle. reverse o.k.... how do I attack a problem such as this?
