    last question for a while...I swear

    I have a 72' evinrude 9.9 that maybe gets 2-3 hours a year on it, everything but the impeller and plugs are original. The lower cylinder is slowly filling with water, not hydro-locking, but obviously not firing, if its getting water in there, and not locking up, does that smell like a head...

    please settle a bet

    When I take my buddy out, we get to a spot, and I refuse to raise the lower unit out of the water for a few minutes, I call it a cool down moment, is there a difference if I do this or not? My theroy is all moving parts create heat, and if I leave it in the water for a few minutes, it may help...
