    Compression Question

    Checked my compression today, 92 yamaha 50 hp. got between 117 and 120 on all three cylinders. Is this normal? I've seen some posts where 140 is expected, but anyone know the specs on this yamaha motor?<br /><br />Thanks!

    Adjustment Screws

    What if your outboard manual tells you to turn your screws out 1.5 turns on the carbs, but you have to turn them out 3 to 4 turns to get it to run smoothly with the ear muffs on? Does this imply dirty carbs or some other problem?<br /><br />Motor in question is Yamaha 50 hp.

    Two Quick Questions

    1. On a 92 Yamaha pro 50, how do you determine the adjustment on the screws that control the flow of the carbs? I have 3 cylinders and 3 screws, but not sure how many turns to bring them out from all the way in. I just cleaned the carbs a few weeks ago and ended up turning the screws out...
