OK i have a 88 17' reinell with a 4.3 and a cobra outdrive. I'm pretty sure I need to replace the shift cable cause it seems to take more effort then other people on here have told me to make it shift. I disconnected were the shift cable's meet on the top of the engine and with the lower cable...
Took my boat out for the first time on saturday. The temp appeared to be around the 200 degree range the whole time. It's hard to tell cause the gauge has a notch that reads 150 then the next is 240. it was well below that but hard to tell exactley what temp it was, not the most accurate gauge...
So i just bought a 88 Reinell 17' open bow with a 4.3 and cobra i/o. Took it out today for the first time and low and behold i have shift problems that i have been happily reading about all over this site. Here's what it does, put it in the water, start it and go. Goes into forward just fine...
