do you realize when fuel is removed from the tank, air has to get into the tank so that a vacuum is not formed

according to the parts breakdown only things behind the prop are the #9 prop nut washer, #10 prop nut, and #11 split pin. the thing in front of the prop would be #7 thrust holder

just keep in mind that the tube is not normally flat, so if you have to get some proper type and thickness aluminum to lay on it to weld up, it will need to be bent to the same curvature to lay against the tube. I do not see how a piece of aluminum angle would be able to do that

You need to monitor the battery voltage and the voltage at different places before starting and after. with motor running you should be reading over 12.5VDC probably around 13.5 or 14 I do not believe the battery voltage your gauge shows is correct if it goes to 0 and RPMs drop I was wrong it...

You can always use GPS speed if you are not too particular on the difference in water speed and GPS, land speed. currents do affect water speeds, going with or against the current
