Mechanically inclined but no engine experience. Got a 1983 Johnson J90MLCTE that fires only on 1 & 3. Nothing on 2&4. Switched out power packs and still nothing on 2&4. Power pack okay? Found out that stator and timer base could be the culprit. Going to replace both - difficulty level...
