    50 hp Mercury- no power

    Mercury 50 hp won't go faster than 5 mph

    I have a 1973 50 hp mercury with dual carbs. This problem is intermittant. Usual top speed is 30 mph. Problem is sometimes it loses power and won't go faster than 5mph. Plugs are new. Squeeze bulb has pressure. Fuel filter/screens are clear. Tank is vented and clean. Problem may last ten minutes...
