    Tell-Tale modification on 225 'Rude?

    I have a 1996 225 OMC with the tell-tale that screws in the center. My problem is this: I have low water pickup and this thing constantly stops up. Can I drill this out some or ad a bigger hose via a fitting in its place? Thanks in advance....

    Hi all. I need to know what years lower units will fit a 1996 Evinrude 225 ? Will a 150 fit a 225 etc.. In your opinion which is the strongest that will fit. I have what is believed to be an 86 and another believed to be a 76 model. Looks like the same bolt-up? Thanks for the help in advance!

    mercury 25- What Next???

    I have a mercury 25 that quit in the water and would not start back up. Cleaned the carb. and entire fuel system. New hose and tank with fresh gas and oil. Starts up and runs but real bad. Will not smooth out in any RPM. Pulled both kill switch wires thinking one maybe grounding.....didnt cure...

    Run into something for the second time this year guys. Dirt dobbers nesting in the cowling cover of a nice 2 - 3 year old outboard. The first motor was an Evinrude 150. Most recent was my father in law's 125 Merc.... They nest in there and as you run they loosen up and fall and rattle around...

    Overheating at idle under load

    1996 225 Vindicator. My problem is this. When idling in gear for say 100 yards the alarm goes off. The pressure gauge reads 12lbs. at 5500 RPM's and 2lbs. at idle under load (650-675 RPM's).     Which Gear Oil Is Best?

    Hello all. Was wondering what gear oil is deemed to be best for OMC? Ive been using Royal Purple Max Gear 75w90 in my 35 'Rude for a couple years now with no problems. Could I use this in my 1996 'Rude 225 Vindicator? Does anyone reccomend this oil? Thanks!
