Hi I have a 1997 40hp merc on my 14.5' runabout and need to know what prop(pitch) is the best for it?. (has a 3 blade 11 pitch prop on it now)

I have a 1997 40hp force by merc (great compresion)with quicksilver controls that I am trying to start, it turns over but thats it, and the ground wire gets very hot. I suck at wiring any help would be great.

I picked up a 96 (40hp elpt with tilt and trin) force outboard about a year ago and a set of Quicksilver controls with cables and wireing but have no idea how to hook it up so I though I wood see if there might be a drawing that would help.

Hay guys, new to the site and have puchased a 40 hp force that has a crack in the lower leg fixable, if I could get it apart but don't have a diagram of the lower unit any help would be great.
