    Need better hole shot

It's a good prop for pulling out and doesn't over Rev due to being large diameter and four blades which is well match to engines torque. Max speed at engine rated wot rpm is 37 -39 mph. 4800 rpm +- 100 rpm. Fuel economy at 20mph is about 4 mpg.

    Need better hole shot

Did you try the Michigan Wheel Vortex 4 blade AL 15 X 16 prop? I have a VP 5.0 GXi 270 HP Chapparel 22foot+plat;(3600lbs empty) 5 adults 45 gal gas pull two skiers up no problem. Something else wrong water logged, motor sick etc, if that prop won't move it..

    Boat Pricing

The majority of recreational boats are not well cared for. You should go into looking at older boats with a very skeptical attitude as to condition. Almost all fiberglass boats have wood frame behind the fiberglass/gel coat exterior. Water gets in there and they rot internally. You need...

    383 build requirements

Scott can truck/car gm short block assemblies be used in fresh water marine build with brass freeze plugs installed? Are aluminum blocks and heads to be avoided.? Are flat top pistons with only the two valve relief cut the best design to use for a 383?

    383 build requirements

Is that a typo GM has a tolerance of +/- 25 grams between pistons?? or is that 0.25 grams between pistons. That like an ounce When you say clearance your talking about the grinding done to bottom piston bore for connecting rod to cleared at end of stroke. Your knowledge on this subject...

    383 build requirements

What about buying a short block assembly from a reputable engine builder and have my shop add vortec heads, push rods, rockers intake, carb, wtr pump, distributor, accessory drive for ps, and alt. etcc. Thinking of a strategy that may simplify build and minimize chance for errors at least in...

    383 build requirements

What I want is a motor with more power overall and durability/reliability. The 5.0 is a little anemic but is a decent(reliable) and with big 4 blade it moves my 22 ft with some authority. Prior boat was 21 ft SeaRay with '96 5.7 Brv1. Significant difference with felt and actual power, though it...

So a qjet would work. Think they are there on cfm. The holley he could just order one in that cfm. I'll ask him on what style pistons he's using.

    383 build requirements

Giving some serious thought to replacing my 5.0 GXi in 22 ft boat with a 383 motor. Looking for pump gas as fuel, reliability and the inherent greater torque the 383 comes with. Trying to simplify my engine system by going back to carb so no more high pressure pump issues and leaving behind...

I'd find an edge where carpet ends in a hidden spot. Peal enough up to see. Could be marine plywood at that age.

    Prop Damage

Use a hammer not a pair of pliers to bend it. Hammering is the best and only way I've found to reshape an aluminum prop. The metal tears easy with pliers/vice grips.

    Towing a Chaparral 23 H2o Sport boat with a 4Runner that has a 5,000 pound tow rating

You'll have that uneasy feeling when towing that close to limit. I occasionally tow my 22 ft that weighs out close to max tow capacity of my 2012 Chevy Silverado short bed w/V-6. While it does an admirable job its still is huffing and puffing up grades and definitely not the best truck for the...

    KIA Telluride for towing?

Make sure you keep a fire extinguisher handy while towing. Kia's have a nasty habit of self combusting.

    KIA Telluride for towing?

Look at tow rating of vehicle and total weight of towed boat/trailer. If it falls within rating of vehicle and you tow safely you'll be fine. Here is a review of it towing 5,000 lbs. https://www.outmotorsports.com/2022/01/2022-kia-telluride-review-towing/
