    Elgin lower unit grease

    Anyone know what should be used in the prop assy for grease? I got a copy of an old manual that just refers to Elgin grease. It sure looks like grease and not gear oil, unless its just really old (greasy not runny). It's a 50's West Bend 7.5hp.<br /><br />Thanks

    Elgin 7.5

    Just got an Elgin 7.5 HP (West Bend 1957). Ran it in a barrel for the first time after cleaning the tank out. Can't seem to see a water stream. I plan on doing the impellar anyway but does this motor have a telltale?
