    I bought a 35hp Johnson on Ebay with no ID plate. How do I determine the year? The welch plug has a number on it: 392124 with RPH underneath. I believe that it is either a 78 to 81. Thanks

    35 HP Johnson Model Year

    I have a '70's 35 hp Johnson short shaft electric start motor with no plate on it. The number on the freeze plug is 392124 RPH. Can anyone identify model and year<br /><br />There is some black oil coming from around the prop. <br />Is this something to be concerned about?<br /><br />Thanks
