    2000 Mercury Optimax 135 Thump accelerating after idle

    Engine shifts into gear as smoothly as it ever did and runs fine at idle speed. When accelerating beyond idle there is a loud thump noise which you can feel the vibration. I thought it was the engine slamming against the mount, but that was not the case. I'm confused.

    2000 Optimax 135 loud thump when accelerating

    The shift into gear is smooth and all is fine at idle speed. Push the throttle down and there is a slamming noise that made me think the trim was up and the engine was hitting against the engine mount. This was not the case. It happens every time time upon accelerating past idle. I'm confused.
