1973 25HP EVINRUDE IDLES REAL ROUGH THEN DIES

I HAVE A 1973 25HP EVINRUDE WHICH HAD BEEN SITTING FOR SEVERIAL YRS. JUST GOT IT STARTED CARB HAS BEEN CLEANED . IF I BUMP THE GAS UP A LITTLE IT RUNS FAIRLY DECENT, BUT STILL I CAN TELL IT ISN'T RIGHT. IF I GIVE IT FULL THROTTLE KIND OF ACTS LIKE IT'S TOO MUCH RPM AND IT SPITTS AN SPUTTERS ...
