I bought a 1981 9.8 in "really" good shape that was in storage for 14 years. Fired right up. Looks new but ......! Tell tale is sporadic at best so I dropped the lower unit to check the water pump. All good there. Took it to my local marina and they tell me that they think it has overheated...
