    I have a 100hp Johnson that ran great until one day the shift switch started smoking when I put it in reverse and it stayed running forward.     71 Johnson hydro electric goes forward in all gears

    Hi, I have a 71 johnson 100hp that ran great until we got a bunch of rain now it is stuck in forward. I replaced the shifter switch with a toggle like described in another post and it sill does it. please help. this is how i wired the switch.
