    hooked up battery today to 85hp Evinrude Stareflight and battery melted!!

    I just bought this 85hp Evinrude serial#C83187 model#85393M and I can't find out the year any help from you guys would be great. I think the bottom end is broken because I can turn the prop around both ways in forward or reverse I don't know if this is normal so any help would be great! thanks alot
