    Anyone know the model/ serial number of this motor? I need a new starter for it

    Looking for a new starter for my mercury 35hp. It is not hitting the flywheel. It comes just short of hitting it. I taped the bendix with a hammer and that worked for a little while. I have no idea what year, model, or what the serial number is. Since it is up north I can't go check. Any help...

    Bendix sticking, not going up all the way to hit the flywheel

    Hey guys, I have a older 35hp mercury outboard. Probalby around a 1989... it has brown mercury decals if that helps. The bendix does not seem to go up all the way to turn the flywheel over. Sometimes if I tap in with a hammer it will work. I greased it and it still seems to give me trouble...
