    I have a 1995 or a 1997 Evinrude 40 hp outboard - 2 cyllinder 2 stroke, carbs, electric start. Used to work fine until a year ago I had to turn the throttle about 1/5 of full travel to keep it at idle, otherwise it would shut off.
