    1964 Johnson 18hp no spark to top cylinder.

    I recently discovered that I am not getting any spark to my top cylinder. So I am trying to figure out how many of the ignition componets I need to replace. I was thinking at first the coil, contacts, and points. Should I replace the wires also, if yes what all do I need to order?

    I have recently been running champion J6C spark plugs in this motor. I just read something that had champion J68 listed as the correct plug. Could somebody tell me what the difference would be between these two plugs and which one would be better? Thanks in advance.

    What does the "E" mean in FD-18E?

    I have a Johnson seahorse Model # FD-18E. From what little I have read it seems the the E is supposed to be for electric start, but my motor is a pull start so what does the E in the model number mean? Shouldn't my model number just be FD-18??
