    volvo motor identification.

    A friend of mine is buying a 1975 boat with a volvo outdrive. He says it has a 4 cyl motor.Will this motor be a Chevy motor? I haven't seen it yet.Also will he be able to get parts for this motor and drive?

    1976 85hp obsolete part?

    I have a 1976 85 hp Johnson with the Hydro-mechanical gearcase. I'm getting a little water in the gearcase.Did a pressure test and found a leak at the shifter shaft seal. The part (0385544) is a cover with a bushing/seal built in. The part is obsolete. Anyone ever repaired this problem and if so...

    pressure/vacumn testing gearcase?

    I have a 1976 85 hp johnson that keeps leaking water into the gearcase. Rather than guessing where it is leaking I would like to pressure or vacumn test the gearcase.Can anyone tell how this is done. I have an air compressor,regulators,and a vacumn pump.
