    Johnson/Evinrude shift rod length?

    I've got A refurbished lower unit for A 1978 Johnson/Evinrude 70 hp model# 70873C and need to know what the shift rod length should be adjusted to.I was unsure if it makes A huge difference but you all are the gurus of the water so here I am.Thanks alot everybody!

    reversed lower unit

    I have A new lower unit for my 1978 Johnson 70hp but the controls are reversed.Forward makes it go in revers and reverse goes forward.It goes really slow moving forward but in reverse it's got tons of power.The motor worked fine with the old lower unit just as it should.This one is from A 65hp...
