How important is the "driveshaft roll pin" on a 1967 Evinrude Fisherman 6hp?
When I replaced the water pump impeller on my motor, I had to destructively remove this pin to slide the new impeller down the shaft. I didn't see any purpose for it at the time and couldn't get a replacement- but now...
I have a 1967 6hp Evinrude Fisherman which will start and idle ok (not great), but the engine wants to die out if I try to open the throttle above the "start" position- either in gear or in neutral. Any ideas?
