I have a merc 1000 with two coils and a distributor with points. Is it possible or recommended to convert the distrubutor to a point-less? or since its running ok should I let it alone?
I have a mercury 1000 circa 1965 and I cant figure out how to connect the throttle cable. I got the shift cable in its trought with the spring lock but I cant see where the throttle cable is held into place. Im not talking about on the linkage but were on the housing to stablize the cable while...
I have a blown (dead) 1967 95hp controls. I got a 65ish 100hp Mercury but the control fitting doesn't match up with the 67 merc controls i have. Can I move the control plate where the wires connect to the motor from the 95hp to the 100hp?
