    starter solenoid washers

    I am in the process of changing out the starter solenoid of a 96 Force 40 and when I removed the electrical connectors I found lock washers under the connectors but none under the nuts. Is this normal for an outboard motor? This is the way it came from the factory. Jerry

    96 40 Force Solenoid removal

    Is there a way to lower the cover to get at the starter solenoid or do you have to work within it? Thanks Jerry
