I pulled the lower unit to do an impeller change. The lower unit came off, but the gear shift pulled out of the lower unit with a plastic retainer (part no 682-44176-00-00) on the shaft, located above the rubber stopper.
How do you put this retainer back in the lower unit? - Mark
