I have recently purchased a sport jet 90 mercury sea ray. The current stator is a 398-9873a24 and the voltage regulator looks to be a 15 amp regulator. Mercury put out a service bulletin No 95-20 some time ago stating that all boats with this stator should replace it with a red stator...
