    1998 90HP Special Shift Rod??

    I need advise on how to drop my lower unit. I have all of the bolts loose and the unit drops about 1/2". I know my shifting rod is whats keeping it from dropping all the way but I cannot figure how it disconnects. Can some please give me some advise. Thanks for you help.

    Drop lower unit 1998 Johnson 90HP

    I need to have my skeg plate repaired. Which requires me to drop the lower unit. I have never done this can someone help with instructions. What postion should the gear shift be Forward Neutral or reverse?
