    50+- rpm surge at idle '74 evinrude 135 silver starflite

    hi everyone.<br />i notice when my engine is running at idle, the tach reads about 700-750. there is a regular surge, and it bumps the rpm up to about 800.<br />my service manual says the max idle in gear is 650. am i going to damage my engine? if i adjust the throttle linkage to idle below...

    1974 135 Silver Starflite compression

    Anyone know what the normal compression should be for this engine? It'a a '74 Siver Starflite 135. I believe I am getting 110-120 on each cylinder.<br />I think that's pretty good on a 30 year old motor...<br />what do ya'll think?
