I have a new 9.8 four-stroke Tohatsu with 150 hours on it. It will run at speed for a few hours, then stop (fuel starved) - fuel line bulb is flat - pump it up again and all is well for a few minutes and then it starves for fuel again. Switching tanks (both new - one 3.1 gal and the other 6.6...
