    Just incase anyone was following this here was the issue. I ended up taking the vst apart which was a difficult procedure on my motor and found that the high pressure fuel pump had come loose out of the bushing or grommet that holds it in place.     There isn't an alarm that goes off. I'm not sure how else to tell if it is in safe mode. I did just order a new sensor along with a new fuel line yesterday. I'm hopeful.
