    Nissan 40 reed block melted?

    The reed block to the bottom cylinder was melted and disfigured on the bottom reeds. Not letting the reeds close. I can not figure out how this could happen, execpt incorrect timing or a clogged up exhaust tube. Can someone help. Thank you for your help.

    one cylinder dead (reeds)

    I just purchased a used boat with a Nissan 40 hp 2stroke. I'm not sure, but I think the motor is a late 90's model. When I put the boat in the water, it would not get over around 1500 rpms.
