    i have a aluminum boat with a mercruiser and a tohatsu kicker and both motors are corriding on the lower unit someone said that the battery has to be grounded to the aluminum boat anybody shed some light on this.

    starter problems

    Have a 1990 mercruiser when you try to start you hear a click,after 5 or 6 trys it will finally turn over and start,it sounds like a starter solenoid,but not sure where it is and how to test.thanks

    8hp 4-stroke nissan pull sart

    have a 3 year old nissan 8hp 4 stroke when u pull the start cord ,won't pull, looked at the recoil on top of starter assembly,there is a tang that should be up when in netural,but its not seems like a simple adjustment,if you lift this tang up u can pull the cord.thanks

    poor performance merc 140 ib

    my 1991 mercruiser 140 runs bad under load in netural runs great and rev's up good ,in gear at idle runs fine when you go to take off it bogs down shakes and runs terriable,i know the exaust bellow is bad ,thanks

    help no spark

    have a 1974 50hp evinrude no spark on either cylinder replaced the power pack and recitifer still no spark ,tested charge coils at terminal 2&3 on power pack and got 140v ac,disconnected big red connector that goes to controls no spark,anny ideas.

    have a 1974 evinrude 50 hp no spark,manual said to test the charge coils under flywheel,buy using a test box,which i do not have, but i have a vom meter.can this be used,and any other things to check.thanks Spoonriger

    i have a 1974 50hp evinrude that has been in storage for 3 years,seems to run fine on test muffs,but not sure of the impeller, there does not seems to be a pee hole,but motor does not appear to be running hot.it has a hydro-mechanical lower unit,according to the manual (clymers) i need to remove...

    mercruiser thermostat housing

    last fall when winterizing my 91 3.0l mercruiser one of the bolts that hold on the thermostat cover broke,while drilling out the stud the drill broke what a mess now.i think it would be easier and less headache to just replace the whole housing,80.00 for the parts.my question is this a hard...

    1991 140 3.0 litre no power

    please help my 1991 140 hp 3.olitre is in need of help.Starts great Idles good but last year on wot speed was 45mph.This year at wot 32.also the engine is much louder,like a roaring sound.I'm suspecting the carb.what do you guy think?also anyone know what rebuild kit to use.Thanks

    i'm trying to get my 1964 evinrude 9.5 running ,got a carb rebuild kit from omc but it did not have instructions,my question is there one or 2 knock out plugs. It looks like one about 7/16" across and right above that there appears to maybe be one about 1/4"across,but i"m not to sure and don't...
