    cracked and peeling gelcoat

    I'm thinking about buying a 78 Ski Tique, but the gelcoat is pretty badly spider cracked - to the point of lifting and coming off. The problem is mostly on the sides below the waterline. Does this mean that the fiberglass has soaked up a lot of water? Am I going to do more harm by using it...
