sorry with the delayed response. family issues. so any way i have talked to 2 yamaha outboard only mechanics and they said other then the plates as we all know,no other numbers will help. block numbers.carb numbers cdi numbers wont help.
no sticker or bracket label.
the only other numbers we find is y-3 688h 04. it appears the letter y designates year 2000 in a full part number like c90ty as both sides of the motor have either y-2 or y-3. will be checking the carb numbers today.
the boat is a 88 . cant find any tags on the motor to identify it. the two plates on the bracket are not there. is there a hidden spot on the engine to help me identify it ?
it appears i am looking for a number starting with 90 and maybe 4 letters after it ?
