HI. I have a 1981 Johnson 35hp (J35ECIG) with a bad clutch dog. I have opportunity to purchase a 1978 -35EL78R. Part numbers all appear to be the same. Difference is the 78 is a long shaft and our 81 is a short shaft. Can I take the lower off the 35EL78R and will bolt to my J35ECIG...
