    Does 2000 Johnson 130 have lower unit problems?

    Have read many reports of bad lower units on this year model but they seem to be on higher HP models. This is a brand new carb model I am looking at on a 21.5' sprint deckboat. Dealer says top speed of 40-43 HP.

    1999 150 merc... hours to overhaul??

    May be buying a 1999 150HP merc with 250 hrs.<br />How many hours is a lot or how many hours will it normally be before a overhaul may be expected? Is a 2000 150HP merc same as 1999's? These motors are from boat rental companies in Arkansas.

    65-66 Evinrude 90hp w/electric shift

    I've heard bad things about electric shift. The motor is on a classic boat I plan to restore. I am told everything works. Can it be converted to manual shift if it goes out? Can you still get parts? Do I just keep my fingers crossed?
