    Prop makes clanking noise when put in gear.

    Mercrusier Alfa 1 gen 2. Reistalled lower end and attached shift cable. Prop seems to be running correctly in all grears. But make a clanking noise briefly when shifting out of nutual to other gears. I think I remember it doing this before but want to check if this is normal.

    The boat ran fine plenty of power. So I suppose the teeth on the coupler are fine. There was knowing from the top of the Sterndrive when turning that's what started the tear down.

    Yes a good bit of the grease was removed when pulled out. Tool goes in all the way to the last notch, I consider the rest just the handle
