    Stick Steering: Love it and Hate it

    I have a 1971 Fisher Marine with a 1972 Evinrude, which is steered by a 1972 Morse stick steering system. It is not stuck, but is hard to move. Finding parts is impossible, unless I get a new system. The numbers stamped into the cable are worn off. I can make out "11 FT", but nothing else...

    Had carb rebuilt, new fuel pump, new impeller, new tank, new fuel lines. The person who did all this used a fuel line too big from pump to carb. He also used zip ties instead of clamps. Of course it leaked right away. With the motor cover on, it runs in a sluggish manner. Take the cover off...

    '72 25 evinrude sportster

    after 12 years of sitting, the motor started on third try. we took it to a lake and it ran great. now, it decided not to start. good gas, compression, and spark. the vent is open on the fuel tank. should i check fuel filter? i am stumped and night fishing is upon us. any help is appreciated.

    1972 evinrude 25 sportster

    I have a 14 foot fisher marine. the throttle cable broke and the tiller is gone. Anyone know a correct part number for a new cable? i have a "simplex" control. also, will the motor have starting problems if the vent is closed on the gas tank?
