    Setting timing on 3.0LX

    following the manual, with the motor running and warmed up I hook up a jumper between the white wires and hook the interupt switch wires together. Base timing is supposed to be 1* btdc. The motor does not change rpm, idle, etc. when doing this and the timing shows 8* btdc. Is this a bad module?

    1997 3.0LX rocker studs

    I bought the boat last June, it had sat for 4 years. Everything pretty much ran good except it had a tick. Pulled the valve cover and noticed the #3 intake rocker arm stud had started to pull out of the head. I pulled the head off, took it to my machine shop and had all new screw in studs...

    3.0L Alpha 1 oil leak

    I pulled my boat out of storage yesterday and found gear oil leaking out of the intakes on the lower unit. I've already got a new impeller I was planning on putting in, but what seals and ect. should I get while I've got the case split?
