    Pickup Coil

    1991 MerCruiser 5.0 Engine died. Thunderbolt trouble shoot guide said how to test and it was the pickup coil in the dist. Changed and started right up. After about 5 to 10 min. it died again. What could be the cause? Tim Bell

    Cavatation or coupling slip

    How do you tell if your prop is cavatating or the drive coupling is slipping?? I have through the hull exhaust so we do not hear the exhaust comming through the water like you normally would when the prop cavatates. It slips just before it plains and then stops slipping.
