Is it just my motor or is it common for the low oil alarm to sound when it still has 2 litres in the tank? If I read the owners manual properly it is only a 3 litre tank.
Am thinking of replacing a 1981 115hp johnson with a 2003 90hp merc 3 cyl 2 stroke. Any opinions if this is enough? It is going on back of 16'6" grp cuddy. I am told the 90 hp is measured at the prop as opposed to the Johnson measured at the head. Is this true? If so, it should be a good option...

Have spoken to a couple of local workshops and they say isnt neccasary and if your running ok dont mess with it. No localauto/marine suppliers seem to sell a cleaner apart from a fuel additive that you add to every tank. Is this something to do with fuel standards? I am in Australia not America...
