    help! mercruiser ignition problems

    I could use someone's help. I have a 1979 Somerset with a mercruiser 228. I don't think I'm getting enough voltage to the positive side of my coil. Is there a ballast resistor or a resistor wire in the system? Thanks Charlie

    1995 70hp evinrude no spark. found the rectifier wiring melted and wiring burnt in two. would this cause my problem and what may have caused this
