    1955 , 5.5 hp Johnson ,need little help

    Runs great on the top end ,but low idle is poor ,go into a 4 cyl mode ,but the very slightest twist up the throttle its back to 2 cyl ,but still cuts out and back to ,I dont think its a gas problem ?? Please give me all your thoughts

    1956 Johnson 7.5 need even more help

    Well the last post was about pressure and not making it ,got past all that found that top jug was dead rod was broke ,was running and not to bad but. So now I need a power head ,will a 5.5 work on a 7.5 and vise versa ,I have a good hood for a 5.5 Thanks

    So got spark now ,pump up tank start up runs little bit stops thought to pump up tank it was soft ,start right up and stops again.     got out an old one the other day ,put in tank no spark ,so took flywheel off sure enough black wire top of back coil had rubbed ,cleaned up points ,put peice of tape on wire ,flywheel back on spark on front or top only , took apart later now no spark at all .
